Surviving Summer Class

How to Survive Summer Classes?

The first and most important factor in surviving summer class is to ATTEND ALL SCHEDULED CLASSES.  Besides attending class and is also very important is to do all assignments.  Okay, that is the most obvious task to do, right.

As students we are very eager to do well in all of our classes.  There will be a time where doing the above is not that easy.  Let me explain...We have control over certain situations and sometimes it might be out of our control.  I would like to share with other fellow students my "Luck" in summer classes i.e. "If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all".

Here is my story.

The first week of class was smooth.  I attended and did all required assignments. I'm thinking "Yes, I'm on top of my game".  That same week I noticed that I have been coughing and felt a little under the weather.  Immediately, I went to the drug store and got an over-the-counter medication, cough drops and fever reducer etc... My cough didn't get better and yet I have finished the cough medication.  I got another brand hoping it would take care of the problem. Once again...My cough didn't get better but got worse and my chest sounded weezie (lack for a better word). Then I noticed my cough continued and I couldn't stop coughing even if I wanted.  You could just imagine how I was feeling.  Enough was enough and I scheduled an appointment with my doctor first thing Monday morning.  This is my second week of being sick and finally I found out I have bronchitis.  The way I was feeling I thought I had pneumonia.   I missed class. Damn, I hate missing class especially in the summer time.  My doctor prescribed me antibiotics and a really good cough syrup with codeine.  Started taking the medication and cough syrup when needed.  After three days, I was not feeling any better but worse.  My cough was so severe that I felt like I coughed my ovaries, spleen and other vital organs.  Needless to say, I had to schedule another appointment with my doctor because of my coughing, spitting ungodly amount of gross mucus, and now my rib cage was hurting because of my bronchitis.  He prescribed me another antibiotic and an inhaler.  Now I'm in my third week of being sick and I finally got the right antibiotic.  Basically I had to go 3 weeks of coughing and spitting my guts until my new prescription.

Now, concerning my summer classes.  I have missed 3 days which is really bad.  I made sure I emailed my professor and explained my situation.  I had to "catch up" with all my assignment and I am almost done.  I had no idea as to what I'm suppose to write about.  As part of my assignment :  This is My blog posting.

I apologize for any disturbance in class due to my never ending cough.  My advice to any person with my luck is to "Never give up" and always inform your professor.
